watch Company History Founded by Leon Breitling during Jura Mountains of Switzerland in 1884. Breitling manufactured and specialized in chronographs and precision counters for scientific and professional purposes. Breitling continued to manufacture fine watches until his death in 1914.

Breitling one-upped himself by inventing the actual push-button chronograph in 1923. Previously, all chronographs were operating by turning a crown.
The watch is passed along to the family become involved, to Gaston's son, Willy Breitling in 1932. Taking the family business to new heights, Willy Breitling signed a care for the Royal Air Force, becoming their official supplier of aviation timepieces.
