The story of Omega

The watch is a world well-known watch brand that her legend were only available in 1848 by great founder Louis Brandt. At that time, Louis Brandt was only 23 yoa who already assembled key-wound precision pocket watches from parts furnished by Swiss local craftsmen. His watches were quiet marketable in Italy, Scandinavia, and England. Next his death in 1878, his two sons faced many new challenges most coordination problems. In 1880, they paid for one building with small factory. Couple of years later the enterprise moved into converted spinning-factory in Scandinavia, where headquarters are remained till today.

The best series crafted from this small factory includes calibres, Labrador and Gurzelen, and also very famous watch of 1894. Unfortunately, both Louis-Paul and Csar Brandt those sons of Omega founder Louis Brandt were passed on in 1903. They left undoubtedly largest watch companies which in fact had employed 800 people and produced 240,000 watches annually. Another four teenage boys was crowned pioneers designers and builders of Omega. Paul-Emile Brandt was 1 but indeed he was favorable architect and builder of Omega. His works and concept had deeply influenced nside the watch company over fifty-years.



During First World War hardship in adult life, Brandt still actively pursuit his dreams for watch kingdom. 1930, Omega and Tissot merged a unique company SSIH, Geneva. He sustained his leadership in SSIH group, enable to go on grow, multiply, absorbing or creating some fifty companies. Eventually SSIH took over as the largest producer of finished watches in Switzerland and third in this field.



However, SSIH had many troubles and in addition have to merge with another large Swiss conglomerate, ASUAG on the economy inside of 1980s. ASUAG was the creators of Longines, Swatch, and Rado. Your own created company named ASUAG-SSIH. Finally, each watch giants cannot sustained and fell on hard times. This agency was taken over via a powerful private group. They renamed it SMH yet still exist today.
